Software Engineer

Excellent opportunity to join a growing IT organization working with a small but very experienced team of people. Co-workers have extensive experience with Fortune 50 companies and have created a supportive company culture.

 

Candidate will join the team developing and customizing a web-based, customer-centric document management system and portal.

 

Successful candidate will work from their home office; position allows for flexible hours and includes occasional travel to the Cayman Islands.

 

Candidate will be expected to:

  • Design, modify, develop, write and implement web-based Java applications
  • Participate in the testing process through development of unit tests, test review and analysis
  • Provide technical support to project team members
  • Support and/or install software applications
  • Be familiar with a variety of development concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 6-10 years of experience

 

Significant experience with Java, JSP and J2EE developing web based applications against relational databases in both Windows and Linux required. Working knowledge of object oriented techniques and design patterns required. Experience with CVS, Eclipse and Tomcat strongly desired.

 

Experience with Document Management Systems, Adobe LiveCycle, Service Oriented Architectures and Agile development methodologies helpful. Experience with Postgres, Spring Framework, Web Services, JAAS, and/or JCR a plus.

 

Ideal candidate will have good people skills and a can do attitude. Candidate must be self-motivated. Candidate must pass a security clearance.
